It was a long and scary
January
The resolutions we had made
Had taken their toll on our patience and

Things had gotten worse
And we parted the best of friends
And pretended to move on

After a month or so
I tried to let go
I kicked around with other girls
While waiting for my woman

To have your  goals quite clear
To hang with men who were just friends
Until you set your sights on something

	“Are you a friend of the bride?”

Now I was so surprised
When I saw your eyes
Staring back at him so closely
Looking like you’d just found heaven

When I heard you’d heard those wedding bells
I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep
Ans suddenly I found myself

	Dreading the day
	When he would be at your side
	And I turn away when asked,
	“Are you a friend of the bride?”

		When - that preacherman
		Said, “If anyone here can find a trace
		Of a reason why this should not take place...”

   was hoping you enjoyed the flowers"
